Caitlin Davis Crane, born Caitlin Marie Davis, to Karen L. Davis and Robert
Davis at Norfolk Naval Hospital, Norfolk, Virginia. She is about 5'2" tall,
light blue eyes, pale blonde hair. Her father, Robert, died when she was 8
years old as a result of an automobile accident involving a drunk driver. Very
soft southern accent and facial features favor that of her late father. She has
her mother's spirit and tenacity but not her mother's hardness.
Caitlin came
to the Nelson Institute of Marine Research at the age of 17, when her mother,
Captain Karen Davis, USN, was employed by Admiral Harriman Nelson, USN (ret.) as
a Mission Specialist for the SSRN Seaview.
She graduated from St.
Xavier
High School,
Santa Barbara, California
at age 18 and was Valedictorian of her class. She attended Virginia Polytechnic
Institute and State
University, and graduated
with a B.S. in Computer Science and Computer Engineering. Caitlin interned
during summer breaks at the Nelson Institute and graduated from California
Polytechnic Institute with a Master's Degree in Computer Programming and
Engineering as well as Doctorate in Computer Engineering.
Married (at
age 30) Lee Crane, Captain of the SSRN Seaview and became step-mother to
Robert Charles Harriman Crane, son of Lee Crane and the late Cathy Connors
Crane. |
